The Soviet war in Afghanistan, also known as the Soviet-Afghan War or just the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan, was a nine-year conflict involving Soviet forces supporting the Marxist People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA) government against the mujahideen resistance. The latter group found support from a variety of sources including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and other Muslim nations in the context of the Cold War. This conflict was concurrent to the 1979 Iranian Revolution and the Iran--Iraq War.
Initially Soviet deployment of the 40th Army in Afghanistan began on August 7, 1978. The final troop withdrawal began on May 15, 1988, and ended on February 15, 1989. Due to the interminable and inconclusive nature of the war, the conflict in Afghanistan has often been referred to as the Soviet equivalent of the United States' Vietnam War.

Excellent color footage from World War II of D-Day Landings and Death Camps, from the Normandy invasion through to the fall of Berlin filmed by Hollywood Director George Stevens. Narrated by his son George Stevens Jr.
In 1943, Stevens Sr. was assigned to follow the invasion of Normandy with the 6th Army for the purpose of recording their operations for army archives. With footage discovered only after his death, the documentary captures "home" movies of George Stevens and the crew as they followed the Allied Army across Europe.
D-Day to Berlin is a WWII documentary that focuses on the reality of the journey of war. This video is enlivened by color footage. This approach creates an emotionally moving documentary, without being overly graphic. It is a vivid look at the devastating events and results of WWII. Viewers see the events that shaped the war and that brought about its conclusion. George Stevens Jr. narrates. There is a musical score for this program created by Carl Davis. D-Day to Berlin takes viewers to the front lines and through the horrors of the Holocaust, including the concentration camp at Dachau. This video dramatically relays the impact and devastation war has on human life. It is a memorial to all those who lived and died during the war. |

KBTM of Omsk, Russian Federation, manufactures the T-80U for general use in infantry and tank units and the T-80UK command tank and XKBM, Kharkov, Ukraine, manufactures the T-80UD and the T-84. 320 T-80UD tanks have been ordered from Ukraine by Pakistan, and are fully delivered. I made this after I saw a picture of some piece of shit protesters holding a sign that said "god hates soldiers". These walking human douche-bags protest the war by taking those signs to soldier funerals. They say its because America allows homosexuality and since those soldiers fought for our country then they are fighting for sin....so those ignorant piles of trash protest their sickness by protesting with those signs at funerals in front of the soldiers families. I think we need to take those people and drop THEM off in the dam iraq desert and let them rot out there...with their dam signs shoved up their ass... So I made this video to show a sadder and very realistic view of the soldier story. Some of the stories are bland, some feirce, some wild, some happy....but....sometimes they are very very difficult.

The men and women in the armed forces are 'us'. They are individual human hearts with love and laughter and soul. They are our co-workers, friends, family, neighbors, our schoolmates...they are you and me...you and I.
